Monica Tudehope MP

Welcome to 2026

As we head into 2026, my priority first and foremost is to be an advocate for the people that I represent, which is why I will be doing more listening posts and mobile offices to hear what’s important to you (you can see the details for my upcoming listening post below).

I will continue the fight to make sure our suburbs are liveable, sensibly planned and that we have access to reliable and high-quality government services.

To that end, some of my priorities will be to

  • Work on ways that we can ease the cost of living for families and deliver more affordable housing
  • Campaign to get some of our worst traffic hotspots fixed
  • Keep Parramatta City Council accountable for getting on with Dence Park Pool and Epping Town Centre upgrades
  • Fight to protect our parks and open spaces
  • Continue my campaign to get more bus services
  • Work with small business to make their operations easier; and
  • Work hard to ensure our schools have the classrooms and resources they need.

If you have other ideas or priorities, you can fill out my community survey here to tell me what you want to see me work on or to give me suggestions or ideas on any of the above.

Appointment to Shadow Cabinet

I was honoured to be appointed to the NSW Shadow Cabinet as Shadow Minister for Finance and Shadow Minister for Western Sydney.

I got into politics to serve the people of Epping and now I also get to represent and fight for communities right across NSW. I believe politicians should always act with purpose and in the best interests of its people and I hope to do that I as I take on these new challenges.

With inflation rising and cost of living still an issue for many families, I will be making sure that every dollar spent by Government is one that needs to be spent. Government is funded by your tax – from homeowners, business owners, car owners, individuals– and that money should be used in the most efficient way possible.

For Western Sydney, my focus will be on ensuring that communities right across Western Sydney get the infrastructure and services they deserve. I’ve already called out the Government for breaking their promise on the second stage of the light rail project, and you can read more on that here.

Congratulations to Epping’s HSC Students

I know the HSC results were out last year, but I didn't want to miss an opportunity to congratulate all the students who completed their HSC. This is a big milestone for our students and they worked incredibly hard, supported by their families.

I particularly want to congratulate all the students below who placed first in NSW for their subjects:

  • Selina Ma (James Ruse Agricultural School) - Maths Extension 1
  • Terry (Yiming) Chen (James Ruse Agricultural School) - Maths Extension 2
  • Flora Li (James Ruse Agricultural School) - Music 2
  • Xujing Mao (The Kings School) - Enterprise Computing
  • Madeline Blackmore (Cheltenham Girls High School) - Aboriginal Studies
  • Kara Dumpleton (Arden Anglican School) - Food Technology
  • Emmanouel Voudaris (Redeemer Baptist School) - Information and Digital Technology
  • Hannah Roberts (Tara Anglican School for Girls) - Hospitality

I strongly believe in parents having choice in education and I am proud that Epping has a range of amazing schools spanning public, independent and religious institutions.

Australia Day

I love being Australian and I enjoyed celebrating this year’s Australia Day with my family at an event hosted by Carlingford and Beecroft Rotary Clubs.

Australia Day is a moment for celebration and reflection on what it means to be Australian; to recognise the values and institutions that underpin our nation, and to acknowledge our shared heritage and history. Australia Day is an opportunity to recognise the ties that connect us, the values we share, and the nation we continue to build together. It is also a time to recognise the contributions of the volunteers, small businesses and families who strengthen our communities every day and who make Australia such a great place to live, work and raise a family.

Congratulations to all in Epping who received Honours on Australia Day:

Order of Australia

  • Anthony Morgan OAM
