Hopefully we'll see waratahs in bloom and we may also see the uncommon white-flowered form of Boronia pinnata. Spirit Rock at the end of the trail is a nice rock engraving site and the rock platform has views down to Appletree Bay.

Walk: St Ives Showground

Mark, Ku-ring-gai’s fire ecologist/bushfire planning officer, will lead this walk east along the fire trail past the large coastal upland swamp which joins Rylands Fire Trail. There are many interesting things to see including waratahs and other wildflower blooms.

Walk: Birding near Ourimbah

Ross Rapmund is leading a bird walk through Palmgrove Ourimbah Creek Landcare site. It’s a restoration project of many decades that includes rainforest, wet sclerophyll tall forest and open grassy/swampy areas so it ticks lots of boxes for birding and is a good restoration tale. 

Based in Ku-ring-gai National Park, Chase Alive volunteers provide a welcoming face to visitors while engaging in conversations about our unique natural environment. Volunteers staff the Kalkari Discovery Centre on Ku-ring-gai Chase Road, Mt Colah and they also lead guided walks in Muogamarra Nature Reserve which is open for six weeks a year in spring.
