becoming Mayor, I made a pledge to ensure our towns and village centres
remain safe, functional and attractive. That they remain welcoming
places that support both our community and local businesses. I
am delighted to see that construction has begun on the Galston Village
Public Domain project, marking an exciting new chapter for this much
enjoyed rural hub. I thank the community for their patience as these
improvements come together. I am looking
forward to seeing the advancement of additional town centre planning in
Pennant Hills and Asquith. Like most of our rail corridor, not much has

COMMUNITY RECYCLING CENTRECLOSING THE LOOP |

Hornsby
Shire Council isn’t just recycling soft plastics. We’re closing the
loop by purchasing products made from that recycled content, fostering a
circular economy right here in our backyard! We’ve
partnered with iQRenew to ensure your plastics stay local. Once
collected at the CRC, materials are transported to a state-of-the-art
facility near Taree. There, they are processed into high-quality pellets
and sold to manufacturers to create new buckets, crates, and pavers.
Every step of this journey, from collection to manufacturing, happens
right here in New South Wales. |

WORK UNDERWAY AT WESTLEIGH PARK |

Council has appointed specialist contractors to deliver the approved Westleigh Park mountain bike trail network. Construction
is scheduled to commence 10 August 2026 and will begin with the
construction of approximately 900 metres of access road required to
facilitate the trail works. Mountain bike trail construction will then
follow, with the completed trail network expected to open in early 2027.
Importantly, Westleigh Park will be closed to all public access from
early August 2026 for the duration of the construction works. |
